Greater Eugene has a special place in Oregon’s world-renowned sports performance and products economy, with the founding of Nike and Coach Bill Bowerman beginning the jogging movement here in Eugene. Hayward Field is the mecca of track and field hosting Diamond League, World Championship, and US Olympic Trials events. Interdisciplinary research at the University of Oregon in human performance, product design, and material sciences that draws collaboration with industry-leading companies, including Patagonia, Columbia Sportswear, Nike, Casio, and New Balance to name a few.
