The more than $1B investment in the Knight Campus includes world-class core research facilities and faculty with bioengineering expertise. Research core facilities, a key component of UO infrastructure, advance transformative excellence in the sector by providing equipment and a shared lab space. Current faculty expertise includes wearable and implantable sensors, supramolecular assemblies for thin film semiconductors, leveraging advanced bio fabrication techniques like 6-axis bioprinting and microfluidics to engineer the next generation of medical devices and in vitro organoids, and cutting-edge research at the interface of materials chemistry and biomedical engineering to create new biomaterials.
