Workforce
A regionally focused workforce
Greater Eugene places a regional focus on developing tomorrow’s workforce through educating young people on emerging industries and re-training mid-career professionals for high-demand careers. We have developed a strong bridge between the talent needs of thriving industries and offerings of educational programs through our community colleges, universities, and technical programs.
The UO’s Knight Campus has over 500 students receiving a unique blend of world-class technical training along with professional development skills in entrepreneurship and science communications. The UO also graduates more than 700 STEM students annually and has graduate education in bioengineering, chemistry, and biochemistry with specialized tracks in molecular sensors and biotechnology. This means the University of Oregon will be not only driving groundbreaking scientific research but also preparing a new generation of innovative scientists who will define our future.
Extensive and specific workforce data are available through Oregon Prospector. From occupation types and labor force demographics to information on wages and consumer expenditures, everything you need to know about doing business in Oregon can be found right here.
